Copy Guard/Password
The Copy Protect feature on previous models deterred unauthorised copies by adding a predetermined background pattern, but it still actually let copies be made. The C250i, C300i, C360i series include two new unauthorised copy prevention features that work by detecting a copy prevention code in a security pattern printed directly onto the original. The Copy Guard feature, which completely prevents any copies from being made, and the Password Copy feature, which only allows copies to be made when the correct password is entered, provide enhanced security.
Copy Protection
When originals are copied or printed, a faint security pattern is added to the background of the copies. When a user attempts to copy a document bearing this security pattern, "Invalid copy", "Confidential" or a similar phrase is printed on the copy and users are prevented from making unauthorised copies. The phrase printed on the copy can be customised by the user.
